JOHN 14: 1-7

1. “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4. And you know the way to where I am going.” 5. Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”

JOHN 8: 31-38

31. So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32. and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 33. They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?” 34. Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. 35. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. 36. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. 37. I know that you are offspring of Abraham; yet you seek to kill me because my word finds no place in you. 38. I speak of what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard from your father.”

JOHN 6: 25-29

25. When they found him on the other side of the sea, they said to him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?” 26. Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. 27. Do not labor for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.” 28. Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” 29. Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”

JOHN 2: 12-17

12. After this he went down to Capernaum, with his mother and his brothers and his disciples, and they stayed there for a few days. 13. The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14. In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers sitting there. 15. And making a whip of cords, he drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and oxen. And he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. 16. And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; do not make my Father’s house a house of trade.” 17. His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.”

2 PETER 3: 1-9

This is now the second letter that I am writing to you, beloved. In both of them I am stirring up your sincere mind by way of reminder, that you should remember the predictions of the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles, knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. They will say, “Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.” For they deliberately overlook this fact, that the heavens existed long ago, and the earth was formed out of water and through water by the word of God, and that by means of these the world that then existed was deluged with water and perished. But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

1 PETER 4: 12-19

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name. For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And “If the righteous is scarcely saved, what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?” Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.

JUDE 1: 17-25

17. But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. 18. They said to you, “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” 19. It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. 20. But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, 21. keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. 22. And have mercy on those who doubt; 23. save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh. 24. Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, 25. to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
