Sundays at Malvern Uniting

rev tim and sil hein

We’d love to see you one Sunday soon at Malvern. We understand that attending a church service for the first time can be a strange experience at first, so here’s a few things that may help orient you:

  • The service starts at 10am and goes for just over an hour.

  • Come as you are – there’s no dress code. Everyone is welcome.

  • Free barista coffee before the service – feel free to take it with you to your seat.

  • You’ll get a booklet when you arrive with lots of information about the church, and an Order of Service on the cover to guide you through. It’s pretty clear and simple.

  • Most of the time, you’ll find it fascinating and engaging - sincere ordinary people doing what we've done for 2000 years, in a contemporary way.

  • There’s some singing accompanied by music, which you can participate in, or just listen to. Our music is styled in a combination of contemporary jazz and soul, with elements of the traditional, such as our large pipe organ. It’s an enjoyable mix.

  • Mostly we stand when singing, but you can sit if you like.

  • Nobody expects you to do anything. You won’t be the focus of attention.

If you’re new or sceptical about Christianity, you’re extremely welcome. You can ask any questions you like by talking to people afterwards, responding on the booklet that’s supplied or chatting with one of our team.

If you have teenagers or children, they are very welcome to join with the specific programs, which are introduced early in the service. Feel free to go with them to check it out, and remain there if you wish. All children are to be signed in and out by our team.

After the service you are welcome to join us for Morning Tea in the hall next door.

We look forward to seeing you sometime at 10am Sundays – 44 Marlborough Street, Malvern.
